Prevent Phone Sleep

I have added a functionality for reading the posts on a smart phone. If you turn it on, it will prevent the phone from timing out and going to sleep, as long as you keep the recipe open. It is similar to using Google Maps or Waze when driving: you don’t want the screen to turn off by itself. Some web sites call it Cook Mode.

If you close the recipe, that function will turm itself off, in order not to discharge your phone battery unnecessarily, but remember to close the recipe (or turn this function off) when finished following the recipe.

The switch is only visible on smart phones and some tablets (devices that have smaller number of horizontal pixels than a monitor, i.e., <1120). On computers or big tablets it is not displayed, but can be revealed by making a window smaller that 1120 pixels wide. Doing so may be useful on a laptop that is set up to go to sleep, especially when not plugged in.

If you read this on such smaller device you will see it below and you can test it to get a feel of how it works:

Note: if you use it on a laptop by making the recipe window small, this function will remain activated if you make the screen big, as long as the recipe window is visible.
